Getting started
How does SwipePhotos work?
SwipePhotos shows you one photo at a time from your Apple Photos library. Swipe right to keep, swipe left to delete. When you finish a session, the photos you marked “delete” are moved to Apple's Recently Deleted album, where they stay recoverable for 30 days.
Where do my deleted photos go?
Nowhere permanent. SwipePhotos asks Apple Photos to move them to the Recently Deleted album. They live there for 30 days. You can recover any of them by opening Photos → Albums → Recently Deleted on any of your devices.
Can I undo a swipe?
Yes. The undo button rolls back your last 20 decisions in the current session. Once a session is finished and the photos are sent to Recently Deleted, recovery happens through the Apple Photos app.
Does SwipePhotos upload my photos anywhere?
No. Everything happens on your device. SwipePhotos reads from Apple Photos using the system framework, processes everything locally, and only ever moves photos to Recently Deleted when you confirm. We have no servers that touch your photos.
Subscriptions and billing
How much does SwipePhotos cost?
The first few swipes are free. After that, SwipePhotos Pro is €2.99/month or €19.99/year (prices shown in your local currency in the App Store). One subscription unlocks iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Both Monthly and Yearly plans include a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. You can cancel any time during the trial and won't be charged.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. To cancel:
- iPhone or iPad: Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → SwipePhotos → Cancel.
- Mac: App Store → click your name (bottom left) → View Information → Manage (next to Subscriptions) → SwipePhotos → Cancel.
- Or open this link on a signed-in device: apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Sign into the device with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe, open SwipePhotos, go to Settings → Subscription, and tap Restore Purchases. Your subscription will reactivate within a few seconds.
I want a refund.
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the SwipePhotos charge, and request a refund. If you have feedback for us about why, we'd also love to hear from you at [email protected].
The paywall says “Subscription unavailable”.
This usually means the device temporarily can't reach the App Store. Check your internet connection, make sure you're signed into an Apple ID with App Store access, then close and reopen the app. If it still doesn't work, email us with the device model and iOS version and we'll dig in.
Troubleshooting
SwipePhotos can't see my photos.
SwipePhotos needs Photos library access. Open the system Settings app → Privacy & Security → Photos → SwipePhotos and choose Full Access. Then relaunch the app. Limited access works but hides photos SwipePhotos hasn't been granted.
The app crashed or hung.
Force-quit and relaunch. If it still misbehaves, restart the device, then send us the device model, iOS version, and any steps that reproduce it. Crash logs from Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Analytics Data (look for entries starting with “SwipePhotos”) help us debug fast.
I deleted photos by accident.
Open Apple Photos → Albums → Recently Deleted. Select the photos and tap Recover. They're recoverable for 30 days from the moment SwipePhotos sent them there.
iCloud sync seems off.
SwipePhotos defers to Apple Photos for storage and sync. Decisions you make on iPhone show up on Mac the same way any edit in Photos does — usually within a minute or two depending on your iCloud connection. If sync feels stuck, check Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Photos and make sure it's on.
Privacy and data
SwipePhotos does not collect personal information, does not track you, and does not share data with advertisers. The full details live in our Privacy Policy.
To exercise GDPR rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, objection), email [email protected] with the subject “Privacy Request”. We respond within 30 days.
